Dehradun is capital city of Uttarakhand.Dehradun is known as  gateway to most of the famous  places like Mussoorie ,Rishikesh Nainital and Haridwar. Dehradun is also called as “Educational Hub of Uttarakhand”.As you would expect from a city located in the foothills of the Himalayas, Dehradun abounds in caves, waterfalls and natural springs. One such popular spot is Robber’s Cave, which is a natural cave surrounded by hills. Dip your feet in the ice-cold water or walk through it – travellers are free to take their pick, making Robber’s Cave one of the most popular picnic spots in the city. Another popular spot for nature lovers is Lacchiwala, where you can sit and enjoy a relaxing sunset around the man-made lake and the lush greenery around it. Lacchiwala also has arrangements for trekking and birdwatching if you’re up for it.

Dehradun is a research hub and a home of indian military academy ..It is located in the doon valley of himalayas nested between 3 rivers which is song river, ganga river on the east and yamuna on the west. It has been center of Garhwal rulers and was capture by british.The valley of Doon was christened Drona Ashram, is also called as “The Abode of Drona”.

Places to visit in Dehradun

Robbers Cave (also called as Guchhupani), is a located approximately 8 km from centre of Dehradun City in Uttarakhand state of India.

The cave is  600 metres long, and is divided into two main parts. The Local bus services drops  Anarwala Village, from where it is a kilometre’s trek away.
