RISHIKESH  is a small town in Dehradun district in the northern state of Uttarakhand in India.

Rishikesh is also known as the gateway to the Char Dham. Char Dham is four popular holy temples on the hills (Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri). Thousands of people are attracted every year to Rishikesh for spiritual relief, peace, learn yoga, adventure and to take a dip for salvation. The famous spots are Beatles Asharam, Triveni Ghat, Laksham Jhulla, Neelkanth etc

Rishikesh is a town in the Dehradun District of Uttarakhand. Population of Rishikesh is about 75,020. Rishikesh is situated at about 409 m above the sea level. Rishikesh is at a distance of 35 kms from Haridwar, about 90 Kms from Mussoorie, 25 Kms from Jollygrant airport Dehradun and nearly 240 kms far from New Delhi.

Rishikesh has impressive view of hills and mountains. It also have River Ganges and Chandrabhaga Pul. The attraction of Rishikesh is the great river Ganges itself, running rapidly throughout the city. In the ancient time and till now so many yogi’s, rishi’s, and sannyasis are attracted to Rishikesh to practice yoga in this peaceful place. Since then, Rishikesh has known as Yoga capital of India. Rishikesh is a holy town with so many Ashrams and dhams and it is famous for the yoga world wide. Rishikesh is now world famous as a Yoga Capital of the world. Every year during the month of March- 1 week long International yoga festival is hosted in Rishikesh.

  • Triveni Ghat : The biggest bathing ghat in Rishikesh triv is  situated near the main market of Rishikesh, this ghat has amazing view of mountains and river and has a market also. Everyday.Ganga Aarti is organized at ghat in evening at around 5 PM in winters and 6 PM in Summers.Triveni Ghat is situated just 100 m  far from the main market.
  • Lakshman Jhula : Big iron suspension bridge on the river Ganges which is 4 to 5 kms far from Rishikesh. It is believed that Lakshman (Brother of lord Ram) crossed the river here by jute rope. The bridge was built in 1929 . Lakshman temple and Tera Manzil Temple is also situated there. From the bridge you can have spectacular & mermerizing view of river and the city itself. Lakshman Jhula is pedestrian bridge but it is also used for two wheelers. Open 24hrs.
  • Ram Jhula : Ram Jhula is also the Suspension bridge as similar to the Lakshman Jhula . Many shops are available on the both sides of the bridge for shopping.  Ram Jhula is pedestrian bridge but it is also used for two wheelers. open 24hrs
  • Neelkanth Mahadev Temple : The Neelkanth Mahadev temple is situated at about 1325 m height and about 31 kms far from Rishikesh. Neelkant Mahadev is Temple of Lord Shiva ( Bholenath).  Thousand of tourist visit this temple during Shivratri and Kanwar Mela. Temple Timings are 5 AM to 1 PM and 4 PM to 9 PM.
  • Sivananda Ashram : Sivananda Ashram is also known as Divine Life Society.. Ashram has Meditation hall, Yoga Hall & Music Hall. Sivananda Ashram is one of the most popular ashrams in Rishikesh.
  • Bharat Mandir : Bharat Mandir Temple is situated at the center of Rishikesh and near the main market. . It is located at a distance of 1.5 km from Rishikesh Railway Station and 500 m from Triveni Ghat. The Temple Timings are 5 AM to 11 AM and 3 PM to 9 PM.
  • Beatles Ashram : Beatles Ashram also known as Chaurasi Kutia is located in the eastern bank of River Ganges.In February 1968 Beatle stayed here to learn yoga and meditation. After the Beatle’s visit, Rishikesh came in limelight throughout the world for yoga.Timing till%pm.
